1 stick butter

2 cups sugar

½ cup milk

4 tablespoons cocoa

3 cups quick cook oatmeal

½ teaspoon vanilla

Mix sugar and cocoa together.

Bring butter, sugar, cocoa and milk to a rolling boil. Boil one minute (timing is critical). Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Stir in oatmeal (nuts and or coconut if desired). Drop by teaspoons on waxed paper or foil. Allow to cool.
